ROOIBOS TEA TASTE NOTES
A rich mahogany-red brew with a soft, sweet and slightly nutty flavour.
Rooibos Tea is a healthy and delicious non-caffeinated drink full of anti-oxidants. A great alternative to traditional black teas, Rooibos is low in tannins and high in polyphenols and flavanols, which provide health benefits.
The name “Rooibos” originates from the Afrikaans term meaning “Red Bush”. The plants are indigenous to South Africa, where most Rooibos production still takes place and has been consumed as a herbal tea for centuries.
The leaves are oxidised which give it its reddish-brown colour. Rooibos has a distinctive nutty taste and is best enjoyed as an evening drink due to its caffeine-free properties.
Use fresh water. 2g Tea/ 200ml water just off the boil. Brew by adding boiling water and leave to infuse for 8 – 10 minutes. It can also be served with milk or lemon.
