Guatemala Pacamara coffee is a single origin coffee grown in the steep highlands of HueHue within the mountain range of Sierra de Las Minas. This special variety of coffee is characterised by its distinctive, large bean. Pacamara has its origins in El Salvador, and is a cross of Pacas and Maragogype coffee varieties, which is where it gets its name.
Guatemala Pacamara is perfect for those who have a palate for sweeter and creamier coffees. This single origin, tropical coffee has unique flavours of caramel, chocolate, hazelnut and a sweet buttery aroma. We recommend that you try Pacamara black or with a splash of milk. Cafetière or filter grind is the best way to truly experience this exquisite single origin coffee.
Sierra de Las Minas is famous for its cloud forests and jade mining. Translated it literally means “mountain range of the mines”.
Sierra de Las Minas hosts a variety of threatened and near vulnerable species. It was designated a biosphere preserve in 1990 to protect the wildlife from deforestation and poaching. Around 70% of all animals native to Guatemala live here; its home to more than 885 species which includes populations of big cats like jaguars, ocelots, cougars and margay.
The preserve works directly with farmers to encourage sustainable agricultural practices. The land’s natural features of steep hillsides and shallow soils and many streams and rivers make the perfect environment for coffee growing. This humid and temperate climate helps to add the bean’s unique acidity and creamy, fruity flavours.
